Desmond “DEZZEE” Rubio began singing at the tender age of 5 while growing up in a home full of gospel singers. He began playing the drums at the age of 8,and then picked up the guitar at the age of 16. Forming his first band “BRITAIN DRIVE”, he switch back to drums while filling the back up vocal position. He went on to form two more bands called ANXIOUS” and “DZ STANZ”all the while writing music on his guitar. His final band was called “BODY AND SOUL” in which he would switch to vocals and guitar permanently while touring and recording. His vocal capabilities would then take him on to a solo career under the name “DEZI HAYES”where he would go on to play at coffee houses to perfect his craft. It was at this time that he would meet Lucy Florence during an acoustic solo show in which he would go on to perform an “MTV”show called “MOTEL CALIFORNIA” with Bill Bellamy, and a live acoustic set on “VH-1” playing solo in front of a live audience.

His accomplishment would lead him to record with Don Boyette (Michael Jackson) and perform with such greats as George Benson, Lou Rawls and the Tower of Power horn section. His Unique soulful bluesy Vocal would then land him development deal with Josh Levine (Rebel Music / Sony). It would be a short-lived career with Josh due to contract disputes, the recordings where never released, he was then let go from the roster. Feeling despair from all that was going on in his life (family, career, and love), he retreated to silence. From here is where he would find his voice. He began writing music from all that he had endured through out his life.
